Advanced Search Mode
Advanced Search Mode allows users to have a lot more control over how OneSearch processes their search terms and where it looks for results. This mode can be opened from the library homepage by selecting "Advanced Search" below the main search bar.
If you have already entered search terms and are viewing the list of search results, Advanced Search can also be opened by clicking to the right of the search bar at the top of the page.
By using Advanced Search, you can select some of your filters at the start of your search, including ones for resource type and publication date, or limit OneSearch to only retrieve results from a specific part of the library's collection. You are also able to add additional search fields ("Add A New Line") to include more individual terms in your search.
Advanced Search & Boolean Operators
In Advanced Search mode in OneSearch, you can use the drop-down menus beside each search field to establish Boolean relationships between your terms. You can also double-check the order of operations for your search by looking at the preview below the search fields.
For more information on using Boolean operators, see the "Boolean Operators" page of this guide (link opens in a new window).
