Academic Journals

If you want to start your research with a specific journal or set of journals, there are two main methods for finding academic journals at the Velma K. Waters Library.

To find an article that was published within a specific journal:

  • Go to the Library Homepage and click "Advanced Search" below the search bar.
  • Click "Journal Search" on the menu along the top of the page.
  • Search for your journal by title, subject, or ISSN.
  • Once you have found the journal you're looking for, click on its title to open up more information about the journal.
  • Use the "Search Inside" search bar to find articles that were published within that journal.

To browse through academic journals related to a specific topic:

  • Go to the Library Homepage. Click "Journals" below the search bar, then "Browse by Subject". This will take you to the BrowZine service.
  • Browse by clicking on the subjects listed in the sidebar, or by searching for keywords related to the topic.

If you find a journal that you like and want to follow, click "+Add to My Bookshelf" while looking at that journal's page in Browzine. You will receive a notification when that journal releases a new issue.

To look for high impact journals, sort your search results by Journal Rank.
