Where do I find...?

Library Information Desk

The information desk is on the west side of the 2nd floor of the library. It is directly in front of the glass doors leading to that side of the library.

Come to the information desk to check out a book, media equipment, or a key to a study room, or pick up interlibrary loan items. The staff at the information desk can also answer questions about the library and assist with the computer lab and printing/scanning equipment.

Research Help Desk

The RHD is on the west side of the 2nd floor of the library. It is south of the information desk, past the printing area and the computer lab.

Visit the Research Help Desk to talk to a research librarian about your research-related questions. We can help you narrow down a topic for your project, navigate library resources and find sources, and develop a system for evaluating information sources.

Computers, Laptops, Printers, and Scanners

The computer lab is in the middle of the west side section of the 2nd floor. The laptop kiosk, printer, and scanners are on the west side of the 2nd floor, along the eastern wall. This area is isolated by large blue dividers on either side, and is visible from the glass doors leading into the area.

Study Rooms

Study rooms are located on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th floors of the library. Specific directions for each study room can be found on the details page for that room on the Reservation Requests page.

Books

Most books are on the 3rd and 5th floors of the library. The 3rd floor houses the Teacher Resource Collection (children's fiction and nonfiction, big books, curriculum kits) and Library of Congress call numbers A-L. The 5th floor houses LC call numbers M-Z.

The library's current featured collection is on a shelf next to the information desk on the 2nd floor.

Course Reserve Textbooks

Course reserve textbooks are available upon request for 2-hour, in-house use. You can check out a course reserve textbook from the information desk on the 2nd floor.

Archives

The Archives are located on the 4th floor of the library. From the elevators or stairs, the Archives reading room is on the right, through a set of glass doors.

Dean's Office

The Dean of the Library is on the 4th floor. From the elevators or stairs, the Dean's office is on the left.
