Annotated Bibliography

An annotated bibliography  is a summary and/or evaluation of a list of sources. This is usually through a combination of summarizing, evaluating and reflecting on each source

  • The article's citation
    • Use APA Style 7th edition. RefWorks is a great citation management tool to help with this.
  • A concise summary
    • The why, who, what, how, and key findings. Be careful not to plagiarize the description or abstract.
  • Your evaluation of the article, for example:
    • How does it compare to the other sources on your list
    • What are limitations of the study?
    • Does it support your view point or offer another?
  • Your reflection on how you will use the information from the article in your project, For example,
    • Does it support or contradict your thesis?
    • Does it provide evidence to answer your research question?
