How to access your New York Times Digital pass


What is an academic pass?

  • Provides access to the NYT digital edition via website or mobile app
  • Is available to all East Texas A&M students, faculty and staff on nytimes.com
  • Is available on and off campus with your Texas A&M University-Commerce email (leomail.tamuc.edu or tamuc.edu)

How do you register?

  • Go to http://nytimes.com/passes
  • Create an account using your East Texas A&M email address
  • Create a password
  • IMPORTANT STEP!!  Check your email for an activation link from the NY Times, and click on it to activate your pass

How long does the pass last?

  • The pass is good for one year. YOU MUST RENEW YOUR PASS EACH YEAR!
  • To renew:  
    • Go back to http://nytimes.com/passes and click "Already have an account? Log in here"  and log in with your NYT credentials.
    • If you need to reset the password, go to NYTimes.com/forgot 
    • IMPORTANT STEP!!  Check your email for an activation link from the NY Times, and click on it to activate your pass.

Setting a calendar reminder to renew your academic pass ensures uninterrupted access to your NYTimes.com subscription: 

  • Go to nytimes.com/pass
  • Log in with your A&M Commerce email address and the password you created. 
  • You will see this screen with the expiration date of your pass:

  • Click on "Set a Calendar Reminder to Renew" 
  • Save the reminder that is created on your calendar:
