Research in Google Scholar

Connect Google Scholar to Library

Google Scholar frequently encourages users to purchase full-text articles. However, many of these articles are already available for free to East Texas A&M University (ETAMU) affiliates through the Library's various subscription databases or journals. By utilizing Google Scholar's Library Links feature, you can designate yourself as an ETAMU affiliate. This enables you to access full-text library resources directly from Google Scholar search results.

To identify yourself as an ETAMU affiliate, watch this video tutorial:

Google Scholar & Peer Review

It's important to note that not all content indexed by Google Scholar has necessarily undergone peer review. Google Scholar includes a wide range of sources, and some may not be from peer-reviewed journals. You should carefully evaluate the sources and consider the credibility of the publication before relying on the information.

Note: Google Scholar does not provide a search filter to limit to only peer-reviewed articles.

If you want to ensure that the content you are looking at has undergone peer review, you should look at the article's citation, find the journal's title, and then locate the journal's publisher site through Ulrich's Periodicals Directory.

To learn how to verify peer review in Ulrich's, see this guide.
