Accessibility @ Waters Library

An overview of accessible resources, services, and policies at Waters Library

Waters Library Building Accessibility

Entrances

Both the north and south entrances are accessible and feature auto-open doors. The north doors slide to open and the south doors swing out to open. There are no ramps, stairs, or barriers to access at either entrance.

Restrooms

The restrooms on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of the Library are accessible. Restrooms on these floors have a push button to open.

Study Rooms

The majority of the study rooms are accessible. To see a complete list, please visit Study Room Booking (opens in a new window) . All accessible rooms are indicated. The noise level of each area is also indicated in the study room description for those who need a quiet space, free from distractions.

Elevators

We have two accessible elevators at the Library. They are located behind Starbucks and service all 5 floors of the Library.

Evacuscape Chairs

There are two Evacuscape chairs, which enable persons with reduced mobility to be safely evacuated from the Library when the elevators are unavailable for use. One Evacuscape chair is located near the restrooms on the 2nd floor. The other chair is located in the stairwell on the 4th floor.

Potential Barriers

There are some narrow spaces and tight turn areas in the stacks, study areas, and hallways. If there is a barrier to an area or resource that you need to access, please let us know and we will provide support and options for access.
